Moollon Pickups: VS59 3-single set
Moollon perfectly re-created the heart of vintage single-coil sound. VS-59 is focused on the historic vintage Strat sound featured in the countless legendary albums since 1954.
Components of VS59 speak for themselves: Sand-cast AlNiCo5 magnets, 42 AWG Heavy Formvar coil, hand finished bobbins, cloth covered wire, etc. From Moollon's choice of materials to their treatment and hand fitting, everything is completely based on historical study.
The VS59 has bell like chime and quack, dynamic & sweet high end, rough & tough middle, and deep & punchy bottom end.
*1954 ¡°D-tall¡± stagger pattern: the magnet height is tallest at the 4 th (D) string. Today no one uses a wound third (G) string. To compensate for this, the third (G) string magnet height has been lowered so that all the individual 6 strings have regular output.

Joint Plate, Truss Rod
Typical bolt-on joint does not include "painting removal in the joint pocket."
This process is a sort of painstaking course to guitar manufacturers because of a high error rate and additional time. So, actually, only a handful of high-end manufacturers prefer this method. But, result of the painting removal inside joint pocket is substantial: enhanced transmission of resonance from neck to body compared to typical bolt-on joint.
The truss rod is the typical 'adjusted at the headstock' type. Truss rod hole at the headstock might seem a little strange in the view of vintage concept. Because, most vintage guitars have the truss rod adjusted at the heel of the neck - where it meets the body. This is not so comfy when players have to adjust the truss rod. Furthermore, if the neck-body joint should be disassembled for the truss rod adjustment repeatedly, it would be a potential damage factor to the joint pocket in the long run. So, Swing decided to take one exception with the truss rod keeping other vintage features.

GraphTech NuBone Nut
All SWING Electric Guitars & Basses will be equipped with Graph Tech Nu-Bone Nuts from our production of September 2006. Compared to standard materials, you'll hear crystal clear bell-like high end, big open lows, and a noticeable increase in overall sustain.
Graph Tech Nuts have quickly become an important tone performance tool for many guitar manufacturers, luthiers and playing professionals around the world. Especially, Nu-Bone nuts have rich tone and sustain, without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain), throughout each piece, hampering consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar. |
